Bruce D. Bailey

CEO / Co-Founder

Bruce is a co-founder, partner and CEO of Design Associates. Bruce is the primary contact for projects with his focus on project coordination. Bruce coordinates all meetings with the project team and clients to determine their needs and goals. He produces the programming documents, and provides updates as necessary to make sure that client needs are fully met. Bruce monitors and facilitates the activities of the Design Associates team through all stages of project implementation and coordination. His experience in the political processes of putting projects through state, city and local governments has helped many projects advance forward from initial design and financing through to final acceptance and completion. Bruce has excellent communication skills and is willing to do whatever it takes to complete a project that meets the needs and desires of his clients.

Bruce has spent his professional career working in all phases of the construction industry. After Bruce graduated from the University of Nebraska, he started working on one project after another and found his education on-site. Prior to starting Design Associates, Bruce was in charge of Development and Construction at Oak Hills Development Corporation/International, Dallas, Texas. Throughout the United States and eight countries abroad, he developed special projects for the President of CECO Manufacturing. In 1972, he designed and developed the architectural plans and saw the construction of the first 37 Godfather’s Pizza restaurants.

Thomas L. Young

President / Co-Founder

Tom, President of the firm, is a co-founder of Design Associates in 1978. As a licensed architect Tom possesses a wide variety of experiences in the architectural field including an expert knowledge of regulations and codes. Additionally, Tom brings to each project his expert knowledge of structural, mechanical, and electrical systems. Working hands-on with each project, Tom makes certain all the details and finer points of each project are met.

After receiving his Masters in 1973, Tom joined Leo A. Daly in Omaha before founding Design Associates in 1978.

Jeremy J. Williams, PE

Engineering Team

Jeremy is a key member of our engineering team. He has advanced experience in the various applications of AutoCAD and its’ civil and survey design packages. Jeremy is heavily involved in land use applications that include site plan and utility plan preparation, construction quantities, and coordination with contractors and survey crews. Jeremy also has extensive experience with on-site waste management design and construction drawing preparation.

Jeremy is a Registered Professional Engineer with an emphasis on Civil Engineering. Jeremy has acquired vast knowledge in computer software and AutoCAD applications, through coursework and project experience in AutoCAD and Civil Engineering application software. Jeremy is responsible for site drainage, utility design and all civil construction documents.

Steven P. Stajner

Drafting & Support

Steve provides design and drafting support for our electrical, architectural and mechanical projects. Steve coordinates with public and private utility suppliers to provide adequate design parameters for our clients needs. He also provides designs for fire alarm systems, security systems, sound systems, as well as interior and exterior site lighting.

Steve spent 2 years working for local electrical contractors, before turning to design. He uses that background knowledge of ‘how things actually get done’ and applies it to his electrical layouts to provide cost effective designs.
